DCA Symphonic Winds

The Symphonic Winds is the intermediate concert band group at Dillard Center for the Arts. Conducted by both Mr. Sheldon A. McLean and Mr. Marvin E. Louis-Jean, this group plays a variety of intermediate level band literature. The students in this ensemble are prepared to advance by application of level appropriate fundamental training. The curriculum focus is embouchure development, air training, flexibility and dexterity exercises, history, theory and music literacy. Select students from this ensemble are often invited to join the Wind Orchestra for performances.

This ensemble requires commitment beyond the school day and performs throughout the school year.

BCPS instrument rental is $20 and $10 per year and summer, respectively.
