DCA Wind Orchestra

The DCA Wind Orchestra offers advanced large ensemble instruction and performance opportunities for wind and percussion students. Under the direction of Mr. Voshaun Smith and Mr. Marvin Louis-Jean, the ensemble has earned a reputation as one of the premier wind bands in the state of Florida.

Composed of the program’s most advanced student musicians, the Wind Orchestra is recognized for its mature sound and high-level musical interpretation of sophisticated concert literature. The ensemble focuses on continued technical development, deeper conceptual understanding, and the artistic skills necessary to perform significant wind band repertoire.

Band V–VI (Honors Credit) includes all core requirements of the band program, with added expectations in solo performance, leadership, conducting, and participation in regional or state honor bands.

Participation in this ensemble requires a strong commitment beyond the school day, including annual travel for performance opportunities.
